The radioisotope required for 18F-DOPA PET scans is now able to be generated on site at SCH. Therefore, infants within NSW suspected of having focal congenital hyperinsulinism will be transferred to SCH for undertaking of the scan. An SCHN practice guideline would be useful in stream-lining the processes and teams involved in the organization of this specialised and time-dependent scan.
